The Harold and Lyla Lant Scholarship Endowment was established to encourage and reward students pursuing a career as a lawyer. It is the intent of the scholarship to continue Harold Lant’s legacy of intellect, dedication, and integrity within the legal profession.
One $1,850 scholarship is available and will be awarded to the most qualified student during spring quarter 2025.
Eligibility & Criteria:
- The Lant Scholarship shall be awarded to students who are pursuing careers as lawyers.
- Academic performance, leadership, extracurricular activities, ethics, and integrity are factors that shall weigh heavily in the selection process.
Application Procedures (provide the following materials):
- Completed scholarship application form available here: https://forms.office.com/r/izf04b9jNP which requires you to upload the following materials:
- Resume
- Personal Statement (no more than three double-spaced pages) addressing why you want to go to law school, and your educational and career goals
- Unofficial copy of your WWU transcript
- At least one, but no more than two, letters of recommendation, emailed separately, from a professional reference (professor or instructor, supervisor, coach, advisor) who knows your intellect, maturity, character, personal circumstances, and/or experience. (Letters cannot come from someone on the scholarship committee.)
- In order to be eligible for this scholarship, you must establish an account with www.LSAC.org (Law School Admission Council). The application form will ask for your LSAC number.
