WWU Emergency Food Credit Application

WWU Emergency Food Credit (Aux Points) Information

The WWU Emergency Food Credit (Aux Points) is intended as a stopgap to help students in periods of high need or difficult financial circumstances who need emergency food assistance.

Aux Points provide a limited food credit to allow students to purchase food from campus dining services while they coordinate access to other food assistance resources.  Funding is intended to support enrollment, persistence, and completion and is generally intended for students with limited financial aid options.

Please anticipate up to 3 business days processing time for review of your application.  If approved for Aux Points, you may use them at any WWU retail and dining facilities for food purchases. Unused Aux Points expire at the end of the academic year.

Aux points range from $75-$200 and will be incorporated into your financial aid if you are a financial aid applicant.  Some requests may not be approved based on financial aid eligibility.  In most cases, students are eligible for Aux Points once per quarter.

In addition to Aux Points, WWU has a list of on or off campus or community resources that is available to help students with food or other housing or resource insecurities.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Students must be enrolled at WWU during the quarter of their application.
  • The student is in immediate need of food assistance
  • Students are encouraged to complete the current year financial aid application (FAFSA or WASFA) if eligible.
  • Generally, students are encouraged to accept all financial aid offered to them, including student loans offered to them due to limited emergency funding.
