New Students

Welcome to Western!

We encourage all students to submit a financial aid application (FAFSA) to determine eligibility.  For state residents ineligible to submit the FAFSA, they may submit the WASFA.

Please review the details that will be helpful in understanding your financial aid offer.

As you review your financial aid offer, please contact us if you have any questions!

Important 2024-2025 Financial Aid Information

The 2024-2025 FAFSA and WASFA are open.

The priority filing deadline (used for some limited types of need based aid) has been extended to April 1, 2024 for the 2024-2025 FAFSA and WASFA from the standard January 31st deadline.

Students and parent contributors are encouraged to create a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID  to prepare for filing the FAFSA.  It can take 1-3 days to confirm your identity when creating this login.

2024-2025 Financial Aid Estimation Resources

Due to the late opening of the 2024-2025 FAFSA and delay in creating estimate aid offers for incoming fall students, we have put together some 2024-2025 Financial Aid Estimation Resources should you wish to estimate certain types of federal or state financial aid based on your processed FAFSA data.

Financial Aid Information

Financial Aid Applications

All students are encouraged to submit an application for financial aid using a FAFSA or a WASFA for WA State residents who are ineligible to file a FAFSA.

The application is used to determine eligibility for federal and state financial aid (if a WA State resident).  You can learn more about aid types offered through these applications.

Additional Borrowing Options

Families may find that scholarships, grants or Work Study are not adequate to fund a student's educational expenses.  Additional options are listed below for consideration.
